Potobac was located at the present site of St. Ignatius Catholic Church at Chapel Point. Occupying a high ground with a magnificent view of the Potomac River, Potobac was the village of Kittamaqua when Maryland's first colonists arrived on the Arc and Dove. Kittamaqua was baptized at the chapel that stands to this day.
